Full-grain leather, made to last
Le Tanneur jewellery boxes are made from full-grain and grained calf leather (vachette), the top layer of the hide. It ages into a patina rather than wearing out: the same leather standard used across the house's bags and small leather goods. Every hide is Leather Working Group (LWG) certified, a label that audits tanneries worldwide on their environmental practices.
Storage built for every piece
A rotating mirror, a necklace compartment behind it, dedicated spaces for rings and bracelets, and a foldable tray with several earring compartments: each jewellery box is laid out by piece, not left as open storage. Larger models add a lockable removable case with its own mirror and compartments, and a full working clasp with two keys.

The jewellery box comes in three sizes, small to large, each with a different compartment count for a growing collection. For travel, the soft jewellery case (20 x 13 x 3 cm) holds rings, earrings, and a watch in a zip pocket lined in navy cotton. It closes flat and fits in a suitcase or a bag.

Our jewellery boxes are made by our partner leather workshops in China, a relationship we have built over more than forty years. As with the rest of our collection, 100% of the leather we use is Leather Working Group (LWG) certified, a label that assesses tanneries worldwide.

How do I care for the leather?
Keep the box away from direct sun and damp. Le Tanneur's leather balm nourishes and protects the leather; the care kit (a wood brush plus a cotton cloth) removes dust and helps apply it. We recommend a light application every few months, more often if the box travels a lot.
